Ugandan left-arm medium pacer Dinesh Nakrani equals Indian fast bowler Deepak Chahar’s record for the best bowling figure in the history of T20 international cricket.
Nakrani achieved this feat in a match against Lesotho in Kigali this morning during the tenth match of the ICC T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Africa Qualifier.
Lesotho won the toss and elected to bat first. However, the decision was upset because none of the Lesotho batsmen were able to play a big knock. Sameer Patel was the only captain to reach double figures as Lesotho lost all their wickets for just 26 runs in 12.4 overs.
Among the Ugan bowlers, Dinesh Nakrani was in 7 overs. He bowled a first over and only ran at an economy rate of 1.75.
During the four-over spell for Ukander, Nakrani dismissed Yahya Jakda, Maz Khan, Sarfaraz Patel, Omar Hussain, Molai Matsau and Ayaz Patel.
He waved the stumps of Jakda, Hussein and Matsaw, and Sarfaraz and Ayaz were stuck in front of their stumps. Dinesh Nakrani finished Maaz Khan’s innings and caught him out.
Chasing just 2 runs to record the victory, Ugandan openers Saud Islam and Simon Sesaji scored 227 runs in just 4.4 overs. No Lesotho bowler could take a wicket. Uganda lost to Lesotho by 10 wickets.
