Walgreens has announced that it is closing five stores in San Francisco due to an increase in “organized retail crime” in the Democrat-dominated city.
Walgreen spokesman Phil Caruso made the announcement on Tuesday.
“Organized retail crime has become a challenge for retailers across San Francisco and we are not immune to it,” Caruso said.
“Retail theft at our San Francisco stores has increased five times our chain average over the past few months,” he added.
According to Caruso, Walgreens, “Organized theft and subsequent shutdowns have increased despite our investment in store security systems across the city increasing our chain average by 46 times.”
It takes 46 times longer than average to fight leftist soft-on-crime policy.

Walgreen has closed a total of ten stores in the city since 2019, one of which was losing about 1,000 1,000 a day due to theft.
Ahsha Safai, a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, said the latest move to shut down was “devastating” and would have a long-term negative impact on the community.
He tweeted, “These Walgreens are less than a mile from seven schools and have been major for seniors, families and children for decades.” “This closure will significantly affect this community.”
I am utterly devastated by the news – these Walgreens are less than a mile from seven schools and have been major for seniors, families and children for decades. This closure will significantly affect this community.

A video was released this summer showing retail theft in San Francisco Walgreens.
The Associated Press reported, “In June, a masked man was caught on video in a walgreen, loading items into a garbage bag before leaving the store on a bicycle.”

There are numerous reasons for the rise of organized theft in the left-wing utopia of San Francisco, California.
Proposal 47, passed in the Golden State in 2014 47, reduces a whole range of misdemeanors, including theft, if the stolen item does not exceed $ 50.
San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Baudin, meanwhile, described the Heritage Foundation as a “rogue prosecutor.”
For example, his modus operandi includes “refusing to prosecute a wide range of crimes” and “abusing the power and authority of their office without enforcing the law.”

“Crime in San Francisco has dire consequences, and I believe those who commit crimes must be held accountable,” Bowden defended.
“But it should be done in a way that reduces future crime.”
In 2019, Walgreens banned carrying open guns in their stores.
Other outlets in San Francisco are also feeling the effects of the rise in organized theft.
Targets were announced in the summer that they were spending time shopping in the city to cope with the increase in store lifting.
In July, a spokesman said, “We have temporarily reduced our working hours at six San Francisco stores, making the safety of our guests, team members and the community our top priority.”
