Viral video shows a woman being chased to her apartment Arrested for the 38th time

By now, you’ve probably seen the ongoing social media discussions about women’s safety. From the Gabby Petito to the Mia Marcano case, national titles have been particularly frightening in recent weeks. In that tragic incident, a viral video last month showed an unidentified woman fleeing an attempted attack. Authorities say the man in the video has been arrested in a recent statement.

NYPD intelligence chief James Essig gave an update via Twitter on Friday evening. According to Chief James, police identified and arrested Orissa Lukey in October – about two weeks after attempting a criminal offense.

What happened?

At 2 a.m. local time on September 23, Orissa follows a woman into a multi-unit apartment building in the Bronx. The video of the moment shows the 50-year-old barely slipping into his apartment. Reaching the door of Orissa just as it closes. He turns the knob in an attempt to open the door, but it seems to be locked. He puts his finger on what appears to be a doorbell, stands for a moment, and finally escapes from the scene.

A long criminal history

As it turns out, this is not the first time in Orissa in a criminal situation. Police say he has been arrested 37 times. However, they did not report the crime behind the other arrests. The 411-year-old was charged with theft for a recorded incident.

According to ABC7 New York, the woman was not injured, only stunned at the encounter. He decided to remain anonymous while talking to the media.

“There were two people outside, and they looked suspicious,” he said. “He followed me inside the building, and he said ‘miss, miss’ twice.”

Chief James thanked the people for their help in the Twitter announcement.

Chief James tweeted, “He did a great job of getting a dangerous reactive person on the street before hitting again.”

This is a developing story.
