VGO M-Series Quantum (2021) Review: Affordable and Mantle-Worthy

Even as a supplier Struggling to keep up with demand, this is a great time to buy a new TV. The mid-tier market is more competitive than ever. Today you can get a lot below $ 1,000 and the price is going down while our eyes are cutting the prize.

The VGO M-Series is the best in a very closely matched bunch. It has a quantum dot for bright colors, local dimming for deep blacks, a variable refresh rate for gaming and a current price – 55 inches – below 700 700. A TV that ticks all these boxes is rarely affordable. If you’re in the market for a new flatscreen, this is great news for your wallet.

When you are shopping in person, it can be difficult to choose between good mid-range TVs because they all tend to look the same. Unfortunately, the M-Series is no different. Like various mid-priced models from TCL, Samsung and LG, it is about an inch and a half thick with a relatively thin bezel. It comes with a generic looking plastic remote that has a few hot keys for streaming service.

You may want to wall-mount it unless you have a large TV stand. It has legs near the edges instead of a center pedestal, which means you need a stand that is as long as the TV. It won’t work in every living room.

This is all because VGO’s whole business model is to adopt high-end technology and keep it at something affordable. That means compromise in aesthetics. So you don’t get a razor-thin look here, but you do Tax Get VGO’s excellent backlighting technology and IQ processing engine.

The company’s local dimming backlighting tech may turn off or fade depending on the content that is running. In the ultra-dark scene, some of the 32 regions of the backlighting are able to hit some different brightness, so you’ll get some less gray and some black around.

Local dimming isn’t as good as organic LED or “OLED” technology, where each pixel has its own backlight, but it certainly improves contrast quality. With this new M-Series, VGO’s capabilities are being fully demonstrated with technology. It’s like watching a dark show Stranger things And Mandolorian, I noticed that everything still manages to look crisp and clear, only at the touch of light flowers (where you get a hello around bright objects on a dark background).

I should note that this model has an HDMI 2.1 port – before the 2021 M-Series model came with an HDMI 2.0 port, but this has been remedied here. This upgraded port supports the eArc standard for easy soundbar setup that integrates instantly with the TV remote. And you Should Use a soundbar or a set of speakers, as the TV’s audio is quite thin, although it sounds better than a thin TV.
