Wyoming’s pro-Bitcoin senator Cynthia Lumis revealed her recent Bitcoin purchases in a Periodic Transaction Report (PTR) on Thursday.

According to the filing, the senator bought BTC on Aug. 16 between $ 50,001 and $ 100,000. Bitcoin then cost about হাজার 45,000.

A PTR filing for Senator Cynthia Lumis shows an August 16 Bitcoin purchase.

This was published outside the 45-day reporting period prescribed by the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (Stock) Act. The law requires members of Congress to disclose every purchase, sale, or value of more than 1,000 1,000 worth of stocks, bonds, and commodity futures within 45 days of the transaction.

A spokesman for Senator Lummis’s office told CNBC that the delay was due to a “filing error”:

Once we realized this we worked with the Ethics Committee to fix it. This was an honest mistake, and the problem was solved without punishment.

Lummis’s August bitcoin purchase at the end of June gave her an indication that she was going to buy the dive as the price of bitcoin fell below $ 30K. Commenting on the fall in BTC prices, he said, “I’m really excited about it because I’m going to buy more if it goes down a bit.”

Senator Lummis is a longtime Bitcoin supporter. He said earlier that he bought his first BTC in 2013 for 30 330 and owned five bitcoins by the end of June.

“I really see it as a valuable resource for individuals, corporations and governments,” he commented on Bitcoin in February, noting:

I still think it’s a valuable store and it should be part of every person’s investment portfolio.
