The man who sent death threats to Matt Gates after the Capitol riots has been arrested.

Eugene Wheelsman, a man who threatened to kill Congressman Matt Gates a few days after the Capitol riots, has been arrested.

Wheelsman was charged in a criminal count for threatening to injure.

Federal prosecutors claim the man called Representative Gates’ (R-FL) office just three days after the riot, telling him to “look behind him” and “see his kids.”

“I’m coming for him, he’s going to die. I’m going to kill him. Look behind you, I’m coming for you.” I will put a bullet in you and I will put a bullet in one of your children, ”the accused said in a voicemail.

The man who made death threats against Matt Gates has been arrested

Eugene Wheelsman was charged in May with an alleged threat in the northern district of Florida, but authorities have not been able to track him down.

According to court documents reviewed by Fox News, a judge sealed the case until he was arrested.

Yet, Getz did not notice that the arrest came just a day or two later when he publicly called on the judiciary not to take action on the alleged death threat.

“I think someone might try to kill me and if they succeed, I want my electorate and my family to know who stopped their arrest,” Gates said on the House floor last Wednesday.

A person arrested for extortion

Politico reports that what Gates described on the House floor was actually different from the action that led to Eugene Wheelsman’s arrest.

He believes, however, that this latest move was encouraged by his public comments.

“A complaint was filed in May, and has now been released a week after my criticism,” Getz said.

“If they take our safety seriously, they will arrest all of them for violating federal law and threatening to kill us, not just a few of them,” he continued. “I think the judiciary is biased against Republicans.”

Fox News reporter Kevin Cork has hinted that Huelsman has worked as a camera operator for ABC, NBC and CNN in the media.

Politico notes that he has “worked for decades as a camera operator in film and television productions, receiving five Emmy nominations for his work on NBC’s” Late Night with Conan O’Brien. “

In September, a Florida man was arrested for trying to extort money from Getz’s family, a plan he revealed in March.

“What is happening is extortion with me and a former Justice Department official in my family,” he told Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

“On March 16, my father received a text message demanding a meeting where a man demanded $ 25 million in exchange for filing a horrific sex trafficking charge against me,” Gates claimed.

The extortion claims were so vicious that several media outlets covered them from the angle of ridicule.

This is until Stephen Alford was arrested in August.

Huelsman has already been released on a $ 20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear before a magistrate judge in Pensacola on Friday.
