The Delhi Capitals will wear special jerseys to fight against the Mumbai Indians

Delhi Capitals (DC) will give a special kit against Mumbai Indians (MI) to celebrate India’s diversity. The franchise wore the same outfit during the fight against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2020 edition of the competition.

Special kits are lighter in shade than their regular kits. It plays a rainbow in the torso region and has a jersey-like collar shade compared to the red ones in their regular jerseys. The franchise achieved a credible victory against RCB after the last jersey.

RCB is a franchise that has earned a reputation for playing with special jerseys. They set this trend with their iconic green jersey which has been a part of the league since its inception. The green jersey conveys the message of protecting the environment. This season, it was swapped for a blue kit, resembling the shadow of a PPE kit worn by frontline workers in the fight against covid.

Delhi Capitals have qualified for the play-offs for the third consecutive season

After Punjab Kings’ win over Kolkata Knight Riders last night, Delhi Capitals became the second franchise to seal a place in the play-offs in the 2021 IPL.

The franchises have had tremendous success since re-branding their capitals. They appeared in their first final last year but fell behind against the defending champions.

With three fixtures remaining, Delhi Capitals will aim to seal the top two places. They were involved in a neck-to-neck race against CSK at the top of the points table, but a loss to KKR meant they lost their lead to the top.
