The chairman of the House Budget Committee says the federal government can “give anything” (video)

Democrat Rep. John Yarmouth is chairman of the House Budget Committee. During a recent appearance on CNN, he claimed that the federal government could afford anything.

Really? Does this truth pass now?

If the federal government has some capacity, why not just make every American a millionaire?

Here is a partial transcript of Real Clear Politics:

Running: Democrats and DC insiders fire shocks at Steve Bannon’s private DC rally in panic

Fame. John Yarmouth: The number itself is meaningless. I mean, I’ve read Joe Manchin, I’ve heard him, he has no idea how the federal government’s financial system works, when he compared it to his family’s income yesterday, it has nothing to do with what we can do.

It is not a question of what we can afford. The federal government has the capacity to do what it can, and that’s what we should focus on right now. So I will move forward with the position I have taken in the budget committee.

It’s a shame we have an opposition party, the Republican Party, that doesn’t think the federal government has an obligation to do anything about child care, early childhood education, paid families, and medical leave, whatever the Build Back Better Act.

Can you believe that he said this?

How is this man chairing the budget committee?
