Steve Bannon and Mark Meadows subpoenas show 1/6 committee coming up for Trump

Subpans issued for Steve Bannon, Mark Meadows and two others show that the 1/6 committee wants information from people who talk to Trump.

The 1/6 committee wrote in a statement:

During his tenure as White House Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows reportedly contacted state-level and judicial officials as part of an effort to annul the 2020 election results or withhold election certificates. According to other reports, Mr. Meadows contacted the organizers of the Jan. 6 rally, including Amy Kramer of Women for America First. Before the select committee, Mr. Meadows sought White House records relating to his actions and communications, as well as information he received about the outcome and integrity of the 2020 election.

Reports indicate that Daniel Scavino, the former White House deputy chief of staff for communications, was with the former president on Jan. 5 during a discussion on how to persuade members of Congress not to issue Joe Biden’s election certificate. For Trump, before January, Mr. Scavino promoted the event on Twitter, encouraging people to “be part of history.” And records indicate that Mr. Scavino was tweeting messages from the White House on January 6, 2021.

At the time of the January 6th attack, Kashyap Patel was serving as Chief of Staff to Defense Secretary Christopher Miller. Former President Mr Patel appointed Patel to the post on November 10, replacing Defense Minister Mark Asper the next day. According to documents provided by the Department of Defense and published accounts, Mr. Patel was involved in discussions on security at the Capital before January 6, 2021, and between senior Pentagon officials, and told a reporter that he had met with Mr. Patel. Talking to Meadows. “Non-stop that day.” The selection committee had previously sought information from the Pentagon on steps taken to protect national security before and after Jan. 6, including Mr. Patel’s role and his contacts with other Pentagon officials.

It is also learned that the former president had tried to appoint Patel as deputy director of the Central Intelligence Agency in early December, but the planned appointment was canceled after CIA Director Gina Haspel threatened to resign. The selection committee had previously sought records relating to possible or actual staff changes in the last months of the previous administration, including Mr. Patel’s appointment to the Defense Department and his reported appointment to the CIA.

President Stephen Bannon contacted former President Trump on December 0, 2020, urging him to concentrate on his efforts in January. Mr. Bannon reportedly attended a rally at the Willard Hotel on January 5, 2021, as part of an attempt to persuade members of Congress to block election certificates the next day. Mr. Bannon was quoted on January 5 as saying, “[a]Hell will break tomorrow. ”

The 1/6 committee summoned everyone to contact Trump.

The common thread that ran through the four men was that they were in contact with Trump before the 1/6 attack on the Capitol and / or during contact.

The committee probably wants to know what Trump was saying before and during the uprising that he wanted to lose an election that he lost.

The 1/6 committee is coming for Trump. They see the role of the former president and his administration in this attack.

Justice is coming for those who have attacked democracy to keep the corrupt president in power.
