Seahawks’ DK Metcalfe responds to Shannon Sharp’s late-game decision vs. Steelers criticism: ‘Stop questioning me’

The Seahawks were able to take the Steelers into overtime during their “Sunday Night Football” clash, but they came within seconds of failing to do so in extra time. DK Metcalfe made a critical choice not to go out of bounds in the second to last game of the Seahawks which almost lost the game for the Seahawks.

Metcalfe isn’t exactly happy that he’s facing criticism for his decision, and he took his frustration at NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe.

NFL Power Ranking: Bear, Seahawks slide after 6 weeks of losses

Sharp sent a tweet Monday morning wondering what Metcalfe’s thought process was like when he avoided going out of bounds.

Metcalfe came back to Sharpe with a sharp reaction.

The more the day goes on, the more the quarrel goes on. Sharp calls Metcalfe a catch and runs a “dumb ass game” and Metcalfe tells Sharp to be “washed wana”.

Metcalfe can scream at his will, but Sharp has the qualifications to question. Metcalfe’s decision was certainly an interesting one.

Seahawks got the ball into the Pittsburgh-5-yard line, there was no deadline left and the clock was 1 second when Zeno Smith saw the Metcalfe open on the left sideline. Smith completed an easy pass to Metcalfe, who was between two defenders and had a clear lane outside the boundary.

Metcalfe could easily cross the border to stop the clock. This would set Seattle for a field goal that would be about 40 yards in length.

Unsurprisingly, Metcalfe decided to try to gain more yards. He avoided going out of bounds and fumbled the ball. Seahawks receiver Freddie Swain jumped into it to hold the ball in Seattle’s possession.

However, the team had to struggle to spike the ball, as the clock had 11 seconds left. Seahawks was recovered when referees called for a review of Metcalfe’s catch. It held three seconds on the clock and allowed Seattle to easily spike it and set the game-tie score.

If the referees hadn’t said reviews, Seattle would probably have had time to spike the ball. They appeared to do it with one second left before the play was blown up dead. Still, it was a very close call – which could have been avoided if the Metcalfe had gone out of bounds.

Metcalfe was not asked about his decision after the game. It doesn’t prove the outcome of the game-the Sihaks lose 23-20 in overtime কিন্তু but it’s a game worth verifying.

And Metcalfe admitted that he made a mistake during his brief dispute with Sharp.
