Steve Clarke has included midfielder Scott McTomney and Callum McGregor in his two-man squad for Scotland’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
McTomini missed the previous triple-header due to a groin injury but has since returned to Manchester United against West Ham and Aston Villa.
Despite missing the last four matches for his club due to injury, Celtic captain McGregor has also been included in the squad for the matches against Israel and the Faroe Islands.
Injured pair James Forrest and Greg Taylor were dropped from the winning team against Moldova and Austria in early September, as were Declan Gallagher and Xander Clarke – and were later replaced by Rangers John McLaughlin.
Scotland sold out before trip to Faroe Islands against Israel in Hampden Park Live on Sky Sports.
A double-header victory – followed by a Moldova win in November – would be enough to seal the playoff spot for Scotland.
