Correspondent Stephanie Murphy, a member of the House Select Committee investigating the January Capital riots, said U.S. marshals could be used to arrest and arrest former President Trump advisers if they ignore them.
Rough Story reported in Murphy’s remarks, which they say “how can Donald Trump’s allies be arrested and arrested” if they deny subpena.
The committee investigating the Capital riots issued subpenas to four former aides to President Donald Trump in late September.
Those who received subpen for documents and testimony include former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadow, former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, former communications officer Dan Scavino and former defense official Kash Patel.
In an interview with MSNBC, Murphy said, “When asked about anyone who fails to comply, Murphy said,” We have been involved with various law enforcement offices, including the US Marshal.
“Whatever you say, we will use everything with due respect, we will use all our agencies and all the tools to issue subpenna and enforce them.”

Murphy added that he and the committee are seeking information from Trump aides who have so far been accused of “working or communicating with the White House or in the days of the January uprising.” . ”
“I want to know how much planning was involved, who was involved in the plan, who funded it,” he asserted.
“How they did – what their motives were when they came that day, and then what they knew that day and the safety and security of people like the vice president and members of Congress were at stake. [and] What they have done is either to respond to the event or not. ”
A report released earlier this month claimed that all four of Trump’s aides were willing to ignore or publicly disregard the January committee’s subpoena.
Trump’s directive told aides to the former president that the executive was ready to deny subpena on the basis of privilege.

Murphy may have provoked rhetoric by suggesting that U.S. marshals could be used to get behind Trump’s aides, but a continuation of what the committee has been saying all along.
Committee member Adam Schiff (D-CA) warned that the panel was “ready to move forward and will request the judiciary to prosecute those who do not fulfill their legal obligations.”

Representative Liz Cheney (Orange Man Bad-WY), echoed that sentiment earlier this week.
“In general, people have to show up, or, you know, we’ll bring contempt charges against them,” he told reporters at the U.S. Capitol.
Bannon, however, said he would not provide evidence or documents until the court had ruled on the executive’s prerogatives.
“It’s a problem between the committee and President Trump’s lawyer, and Mr. Bannon doesn’t need to respond at this point,” said a lawyer for the former adviser.
CNN reports that if Bannon does not show up, “the committee is expected to immediately begin seeking a referral for criminal contempt – after Sabwana’s deadline expires – basically setting an example of Bannon’s incompleteness as the House seeks more witnesses.”
