On Friday, the American social news aggregation and discussion website, Reddit, published a job listing for a senior backend engineer looking for a non-fungible token (NFT) platform. As part of Reddit’s development team, the new recruitment will help “design, build and ship backend services for millions of users to create, buy, sell and use NFT-enabled digital products.”
Reddit’s job application is looking for a senior engineer for a potential NFT platform
Reddit seems to be in the middle of creating a non-fungible token (NFT) feature on its platform, and from recent job descriptions it looks like a marketplace. Reddit is looking for a “senior backend engineer” for its “NFT platform,” explains the recently added job listing.
Reddit has already stepped into cryptocurrency solutions and blockchain technology using Ethereum and Arbitrum. The job listing for a new engineer dedicated to NFT technology has a different focus than the firm’s community point system.
“If we notice one thing with NFTs, they also have an incredible ability to participate and create a sense of ownership,” Reddit’s job post details. “With each new NFT project, a vibrant community of owners pops up with it. Fans of today’s biggest manufacturers and brands are now flocking to buy digital products directly from them – to support them, gain exclusive access and feel more connected to them. “
Adds company job listings:
Over time, we believe it will only grow, and NFTs will play a central role in how fans support their favorite creators and community.
Reddit: ‘No experience / need with crypto / NFTs’
Although the job description has multiple requirements such as more than five years of backend development experience, cryptocurrency, NFT and programming language Go experience is “not required.”
The backend, however, must be dedicated to non-fungible token (NFT) services. The new senior backend engineer for the NFT platform will “design, build and transmit backend services to create, buy, sell and use NFT-enabled digital products for millions of users,” Reddit’s list notes.
In addition, the Reddit job list explains that the company has adapted to the epidemic and that the work can be done remotely.
