On Twitter, people share stories about landlords charging extra fees

Roommate, one thing about some landlords, they lRead your work order requests, but don’t hesitate to find any and every thing to eat your deposit. Earlier this week, Twitter user becca__lr created a viral moment when she shared her story about her previous landlord, therefore, inspiring hundreds more to do the same.

“When I moved out of my first studio flat and I kept chocolates and some nice coffee as a gift from the building manager and charged 20 rupees. [euros] To remove the remaining personal belongings, ”Beka wrote on Twitter.

Clearly, that narrative of charge-happy landlords is true for tenants across the ocean. From the United States to Australia and the United Kingdom, landlords are clamoring for this new transfer fee. Here are a few ghost stories shared on the short-form platform!

Garbage bag for a garbage bag

Twitter user Spooky PZY (oddodginsuckas) won’t leave any extra cleaning tools next time.

“You never do well !! I cleaned up and left an extra garbage bag because I had no use for it and was charged 200 because they said it takes a whole trash bag to throw away a garbage bag,” they tweeted.

Hand-me-downs are not at all handy

These landlords are not forgetting their own things stored in the property!

Twitter user Ned Ryerson tweeted, “The landlord demanded extra month’s rent, after we moved out.” “For the furniture left in the basement. It was his mother’s furniture, which he kept in the basement when we went inside.

Twitter user ost LostWunderfound spoke to his landlord that he was already trying to charge her for a door.

The user wrote, “My landlord tried to steal my bond because“ there was a hole in the door ”.“ It was a cat door. Which was already when I loved it. ”

Now, Travel, this landlord is not trying his best to snatch some extra coins from Twitter user @skrink_LaDue.
