The golden busts of George Floyd, John Lewis and Brauna Taylor are on display in New York City just three months after the Public Design Commission voted unanimously to remove a statue of Teddy Roosevelt from the American Museum of Natural History.
The statue’s trio was unveiled at Union Square Park in New York on Wednesday.
The Belmont Star reported that the statues were “inspired by the events of 2020 and empowered many to stand up for justice.”
“The goal of this series is to honor life and ongoing messages through art, bringing together three iconic people,” they explain.
In addition to the removal of American President Theodore Roosevelt, this is the same city where City Council members demanded that a statue of President Thomas Jefferson – the author of the Declaration of Independence – be removed from City Hall.
Floyd died a year ago in the wake of the arrest of additional troops by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, sparking nationwide protests and riots.
In April, Chauvin was convicted of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree murder.
Floyd has spent much of his adult time in and out of prison.
The late Congressman John Lewis was a civil rights icon.

George Floyd statue vandalized
The statue of George Floyd was originally unveiled for the 19th anniversary celebrations at Flatbush in Brooklyn in June last year. It was vandalized in less than a week.
Five days after Juntinath’s release, the NYPD announced that “officers have discovered a George Floyd bust statue in Brooklyn and graffiti on the foot.”
Police said an unidentified man spray-painted the statue’s face black and smeared the word with black spray paint.
This incident prompted the investigation of the heinous crime.
Last night, a right-wing extremist group vandalized a statue of George Floyd in Brooklyn. A racist, despicable, despicable act of hatred.
The City Cleanup Corps is repairing the statue at the moment and an investigation into the heinous crime is underway. We will bring these cowards to justice. pic.twitter.com/mTwzwIyG4z

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio last year pushed for the removal of Roosevelt’s statue, claiming that “blacks and aborigines are clearly portrayed as subjugated and racially inferior.”
Roosevelt is a man of such historical significance that he is remembered at Mount Rushmore along with George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln – widely regarded as some of America’s most respected presidents.

“You’re a domestic terrorist group and we’ll see you fall and you get so hard, you don’t know what hit you.”

Sam Biderman, chief of staff and assistant commissioner at NYC Park, explained the salad of the word ‘awake’ when announcing the removal of Roosevelt’s statue.
He said, “Although the historical situation proves that this sculpture was not purposefully created, the structural hierarchy … colonially supports the thematic structure of colonialism and racism.”
And Teddy is not the only figure in Mount Rushmore, as mentioned earlier.
Just over a year ago, members of the New York City Council were arguing for the removal of a statue of Thomas Jefferson, one of the nation’s founders.
Several Democrats on New York City Council have demanded the removal of a statue of Thomas Jefferson at New York City Hall.

“The statue of Thomas Jefferson in the City Council Chamber is inappropriate and serves as an uninterrupted reminder of the injustice that has plagued the community of color since the beginning of our country,” council members wrote in a letter to the mayor. “This must be removed.”
They described Jefferson’s statue as “a disturbing image of segregation and racism in our city.”
President Trump half-joked four years ago that extremist leftists would never tear down statues of Confederate personalities এবং and if we continue on this path, statues of President George Washington will come down.
Trump was right, they wouldn’t stop at Robert E. Lee. They are coming for all.
