Italy’s Leonardo “injured” in Boeing 7 component issue by Reuters

MILAN (Reuters) – Italy’s Leonardo said on Thursday it was an “injured team” when a sub-supplier of its Boeing (NYSE 🙂 allegedly supplied improperly made material for the 787 Dreamliner.

Boeing Co. And U.S. regulators said Thursday that some Titanium 787 Dreamliner parts have been made incorrectly in the past three years.

Italy’s state-controlled defense group said in a statement: “Sub-suppliers are being screened by prosecutors so Leonardo will not bear any costs associated with the injured party and the issue.”

Leonardo added that the company, the Manufacturing Processes Specification (MPS), was no longer its supplier.

The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
