The death toll in Sweden plummeted after health officials lifted the ban in early June, but virtually no COVID deaths were reported in the Scandinavian country throughout July and August. Deaths began to rise again in mid-September, by which time about 75 percent of Swedes over the age of 16 had been “fully vaccinated.”

Despite Sweden’s mass vaccination campaign, the recent rise in the infection has caused the highest number of COVID-19 cases among Swedish elderly care residents since February.

The UK Health Safety Agency (UKHSA) released a COVID-19 vaccine surveillance report on 7 October which showed that most COVID-19 deaths in the UK were among “fully vaccinated” individuals, as were most hospitalized in September.

Between 6 September and 3 October, according to the UKHSA, 70 per cent of fatal covid cases occurred in fully jabbed conditions, 2,281 “fully vaccinated” people died within 28 days of a positive test, and only 611 died unvaccinated. Partially vaccinated people are responsible for 98 deaths.

The incidence of COVID-19 deaths among “fully vaccinated” Britons has increased dramatically since August, the exposure observed. Public Health England last month reported 600 coronavirus deaths in the unvaccinated population between 9 August and 5 September, and 1,659 people were double-vaccinated.

The latest UKSHA figures also show that vaccinated patients are predominant in COVID-19 hospital admissions. Between September 6 and October 3, 3,910 “fully vaccinated” people were admitted to the hospital for covid, where about 2,400 were not vaccinated. Vaccination in whole or in part is responsible for about 64 percent of all COVID-related hospital admissions.

Other Western countries, including the United States, have seen an increase in the number of “fully vaccinated” individuals and deaths.
