If you’re going to the beach this weekend along the east coast, expect some dangerous surf.
The National Hurricane Center warned that the “critical” Sam Hurricane is blowing from Sam even though hundreds of miles off the coast will “probably cause life-threatening surf and cracks, and beach passengers are urged to follow the advice of lifeguards and local officials next weekend.”
It is also possible that wave action during high tides can cause small flooding, Aquaweather said.
“We’re not predicting a landfall at any coastal location right now, but it’s certainly a big danger for ships at sea, and again those sparks are affecting a large area of the West Atlantic,” said Richard Pass, a senior expert at the Hurricane Center. .
Forecasters said the Leeward Islands were already hit by large eels and would spread to parts of the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hispaniola, Bahamas and Bermuda by Thursday or Friday as the storm turned north.

Adam Dowty, a senior meteorologist at Aqua, said Sam’s hurricane intensity status (Category 3 or higher) should be maintained because of light wind gusts and warm water along its projected path.
Meanwhile, Hurricane Victor formed in the Far East Atlantic Ocean on Wednesday afternoon, the Hurricane Center said. The storm is expected to turn into Hurricane Victor in the next few days. The storm forecast, however, shows that it is turning north and will stay away from land as it continues to hover over the open sea off the coast of Africa.
Victor 2021 is the 20th hurricane of the Atlantic hurricane season. Only one name – Wanda – remains on the regular list of storm names. If the regular list of names is not completed before the end of the season, a new supplementary list of names will be used.
Forecasters were watching the other two weather disruptions in the Atlantic, but neither is expected to turn into a frustration or storm until Wednesday morning.
