How to lose Test No. Z-57 on Metro Dread


Test No. Z-57 is giving some MetroDread players some serious headaches.

Metroid as a franchise known for tough boss battles. Test No. Z-57, though, can be the most tiring to fight. Players can see this enemy working in the Dyron sector before the Metroid Dread.

This terrifying monster interferes with ZDR’s magma flow, freezing the entire planet. When Samus investigates that he finds this ugly disgusting thing.


Gameplan for one of the toughest bosses on MetroDread

At first glance, the attacks of Test No. Z-57 may seem inevitable If players know how these attacks work, they can use some simple steps to avoid damage.

This Metroid dread boss can do a total of five things with Samas. These attacks are as follows:

  • Samus fires a beam cannon that sweeps across the room
  • Swipe at Samus, first with one arm, and then the other
  • A diagonal beam fires a cannon that lands on one side of the room
  • When projectiles are fired at different heights, air blows in the samosas
  • Releases a circular vacuum that follows Samus around the house

To deal with the beam cannon that sweeps across the room, the player must pay attention to the floor. When the ray connects, it leaves a toxic residue that will harm Samas if he stands on it. Each time this step is used, though, a portion of the floor will remain clean.

The spot will change position every time. The best way to reach this, though, is by using the flash shift. Players can wait for Test No. Z-57 to stop shooting and immediately flash to a safe place.

The swipes used by this Metroid boss can be easily dodged with a spin jump After the battle, though, Test No. Z-57 will do a third swipe with both hands, covering the bottom half of the room.

It is easy to avoid the beam cannon from which this monster shoots. Just standing under its mouth keeps the samas resistant to the whole ray. Right after, though, there is a small chance of using a blow counter.

Players should try to deal with it every time, it leads to a separate stage where Samus can unload missiles at this Metroid enemy without revenge.

When this boss starts the wind to blow and throws waves at Samus, the players have to be right with their spin jumps. A full hop will clear the height of two waves. The rest has to be spin jumped over.

Vacuum attacks can be easily avoided by staying mobile. Although the goal here is to hit the player with a charge ray. These are at the feet of the boss, who presses against the walls of the house during this attack.

The best way to go about this is to jump while charging the beam and then release the midsole by aiming at one foot.

Finally, MetroDread players have one of the best tools to get their missiles; Spam them as much as possible. There are some short moments where Samus can even charge a Storm missile on this strange creature.
