Ever since Covid-1 made social distance a topic for the first time, Americans have sought to escape the monotony of lockdown and the isolation of working from home in the country’s 63 national parks এবং and hundreds of national monuments, preserves, and other federally protected spots historic historic historical groups.
Popular destinations such as the Muir Woods National Memorial near San Francisco and Acadia National Park in coastal Maine have ironically become so crowded that the National Park Service had to introduce advance reservations for specific areas and attractions.
Acadia, for example, brought in .31.8% more visitors each year than in August last year, with about 202,92 parks hosted by John Parkgoyer that month alone. In response, the Park Service introduced a reservation system for motorists wishing to drive Cadillac Mountain, the park’s top attraction.

The annual increase in visitors is not the only reason for the disappointing travels last year. According to the park service, there were about 752,114 recreational visitors to Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming in June. While it grew 1% from June 2020, it grew 20% from June 2019 to 2019 – and the all-time high for that month.
Larger crowds and limited access have eaten into the wide-open application that attracts visitors to the parks in the first place. Still, if you visit Yosemite or the Grand Canyon there may be more companies than you, there are several fantastic national parks that are undefeated.
Which park to pack for? Travel website Parkslipfly calls U.S. national parks the most “underrated” and “overrated”, meaning parks that receive high visitor reviews but attract fewer people, or – conversely – draw larger numbers but receive lower grades.
The site analyzes and compares Tripadvisor’s visitor review data and compares it with 2020 attendance statistics for parks with fewer and more than 1 million visitors per year.
Parkslipfly chief executive Martin Jones says it’s no surprise to see crowds of visitors at many breathtaking national parks in the United States.
“However, there is something particularly beautiful in the‘ irresistible ’national parks,” he added. “The purity of the untouched location provides a unique experience and gives a chance to truly appreciate the stunning scenery away from the hustle and bustle.”
The national park on the Parkslipfly list is Glacier Bay. The southeastern Alaska Park had only 5.7 visitors last year, although its Tripadvisor’s .92.9% review was “excellent.” Its relative remote location may be responsible compared to the lower 48 states.
Some of the other so-called underrated parks are isolated or include a plane ride away from the mainland United States. Second place in Alaska is Kennedy Fjords and tied to No. 7, Dry Tortugas একটি a remote island chain west of Key West, Florida – and Haleka, Hawaii. Maui.
When it comes to overrated national parks, which originally received “meh” qualifications from Tripadviser reviewers, the top spot goes to Indiana Dunes in Indiana. Although it attracted about 2.3 million visitors in 2020, only 51% of the park’s Tripadvisor reviews were excellent.
The following five roundabouts were the Quahoga Valley in East Ohio; Hot Springs, Arkansas; Yosemite, Central California; And Sion in Utah – incredibly popular in terms of number of visitors.
