BOSTON (Reuters) – Delta Airlines on Sunday said its ticket sales have stabilized and started to improve, delivering a third-quarter revenue cut of 30% -35% in its original forecast against the 2019 level.

This is an improvement from its projection last month when it adjusted the forecast to the lower end of that range after a resurgence in the Covid-1 cases. Airlines are scheduled to report quarterly results from October 13 to September.

“For the delta, they sank in late August and early September,” Chief Executive Ed Bastian told reporters on the sidelines of a meeting of the airlines group IATA. “Business traffic is growing in the United States”

Bastian added that domestic travel bookings are expected to surpass the level of 2019 next year.

Subsequently, the airline said that by increasing service from Boston to the peak of 2019 it would increase capacity by more than 20% next summer.

The company is also seeing a surge in demand for trans-Atlantic flights following the White House’s decision late last month to reopen the country for fully vaccinated travelers worldwide.

Trans-Atlantic flights for the three major airlines of American Airlines (Nasdaq :), United Airlines and Delta accounted for 11% to 17% of 2019 passenger revenue.

Regarding the vaccination rate for Delta workers, Bastian said the company’s decision to impose a স্বাস্থ্য 200 monthly health insurance surcharge for those not vaccinated has gone up to 84%. He expects the rate to be above 90% by November 1st.

Delta, however, is the only major U.S. airline that has not made coronavirus vaccines mandatory for employees, despite pressure from the White House.

Bastian said the company has not decided whether the Covid-1 vaccine will be given.

“We’re clearly studying this,” he said, referring to President Joe Biden’s executive order that federal contractors should make vaccination mandatory.

“I’m not sure how far you have to go to comply with the EO (executive order).”
