# Roommates, if you follow Dave Chappell’s legendary career, you know he likes to push the envelope and say something that many other comedians are afraid of – and he added to this list during his recent stand-up appearance and his premiere documentary . Dave Chappell said a few words to his critics in response to the backlash he received after his recent Netflix comedy special … and if you know him, you won’t be surprised to see his reaction.
According to the Lywood Hollywood Reporter, Dave Chappell had a lot to say about canceling his call and pulling his new Netflix stand-up special “The Closure”. While appearing on his sold-out show at the Hollywood Bowl, he didn’t hold back how he felt about the reaction. “I like it if it’s canceled. F ** k Twitter, F ** k NBC News, ABC News, all these stupid A ** networks. I’m not talking to them. I’m talking to you. That’s it. Real life. ”
Notable among the audience were some notable celebrities who burst into applause and gave a standing ovation to Dave after his comments, including Brad Pitt, Stevie Wonder, Snoop Dogg, Nass, Lizo, Tiffany Hadish, Sterling K. Brown and Donnell Rowlings. At one point in the evening, Stevie Wonder said, “What we need to reject is hate. What we need to reject is fear because we have to have love and we should never reject it. I want us to reject the notion that we We don’t want anyone to laugh because we cry if we don’t laugh, and I don’t believe that God’s purpose was – ever.
As we reported earlier this week, many organizations and members of the LGBTQ + community called on Netflix to pull out Dave Chappell’s new comedy special, because they feel targeted and make fun of those who are transgender. These include the National Black Justice Coalition and the executive producer of the transgender showrunner and “Dear White Man.”
Netflix did not respond publicly and is available for Dave Chappell’s “The Closure” streaming.
