The Florida congressman discussed the athlete’s disappearance on Sunday’s “Fox and Friends Weekend,” and discussed a letter he sent to the Chinese government demanding an answer.

“Imagine if the number one tennis star, a major sports celebrity in the United States, complained of sexual harassment, it is very credible that a big political figure like the vice president has abused them for years and then that athlete has disappeared from the face of the earth. Outside, “said Republican Waltz.

“That’s what happened in China … everything has been censored, and now he’s gone, and so the letter we sent to the ambassador said stop censorship, give us verifiable proof of his health and safety, and it needs to be fully investigated.” Republican Waltz explained.

Despite Chinese officials and state-backed media posting videos and photos of him in recent days, many critics are not buying him.

Peng Shuai posted on a Chinese social media platform earlier this month where former Vice President of the People’s Republic of China Zhang Gaoli accused him of sexual harassment, but the content was quickly removed and Shuai has been missing for two weeks.

Rep. Waltz last week sent a letter to the Chinese government demanding proof of his safety and health and an investigation into the allegations.
