As in the 1980s, Princess Diana’s iconic sheep jumper has imprinted the winter 2021 style. After a successful collaboration with clothing brand Rowing Blazers in October 2020, Warm & Wonderful is relaunching its dedicated shopfront online. To expand on existing collections of Diana Red and Original Green, the brand is imprinting her signature black-sheep in the new colors of Primrose Hill Pink and Bowie Blue. Adding warm and wonderful accessories, loungewear and homewear that give a stylish festive gift.
Founded in 1979 by Sally Muir and Joanna Osborne, Warm and Wonderful first friends appeared at a market stall in Covent Garden at the age of 28. “We quickly became known for our sheep sweaters – waka wool jumpers in rows of small white sheepskin and a proverbial‘ black sheep ’,” the founder shared on their website. “As artists, we’ve always identified ourselves with black sheep: because of a backward genes, black sheep are born with black fur, otherwise within a flock of white sheep (out of a hundred people, there can only be one black sheep!)” The sheep seemed to resonate as well: David Bowie, Andy Warhol, Shelley Duval, Penelope Keith, Anthony Andrews – and of course Lady Diana Spencer. ”
Muir revealed in an interview for The Daily Telegraph Princess Diana actually had two sheep jumpers. Although Muira isn’t sure how Diana damaged the first one, she always imagined that “her huge engagement ring got caught in the thread.” Muir explained: “It was sent back with a very touching letter from our secretary, telling us how much he liked it and we could correct it. We decided that instead of putting the victim together, we would give him a perfect new I’ll take it. One, that’s what we did. So two. ”
