Baton Rouge Metro Council may bring Kelly’s keys back to town after being convicted of sexual assault

Wow! It’s been a long week for Kelly anymore and it doesn’t look like things will be left for her anytime soon. As we reported earlier, R. Kelly was convicted of fraud and trafficking in his sexual assault trial on Monday and it is now known that he will be stripped of the honor he received in 2013.

According to TMZ, Kelly and Baton Rouge will no longer have the honor of holding the key to the city. Kelly returned the keys to Dennis Marcel in February 2011, who told TMZ that he was sorry to give her the first place. Despite allegations floating around about Kelly at the time, Marcel said his only realization of his case was that he was aroused in the 200’s.

Following the conviction on Monday, Baton Rouge will strip Metro Council and Kelly of the honor, although he will be able to retain the physical key and plaque he received.

As we reported earlier, Kelly was convicted on nine counts on Monday after being convicted of rape and trafficking in a sexual harassment trial. Kelly’s allegations of sexual harassment and ill-treatment of minors fueled the trial, as several of Kelly’s defendants testified against her during the trial.

Despite the guilty verdict, Kelly’s defense lawyer said Kelly was disappointed with the outcome of the trial, and planned to appeal the verdict. And Kelly also received external support from fans, and one of the biggest blacks in entertainment, Bill Cosby.

According to a statement from Cosby’s spokesman Andrew White, he believes Kelly was “on the railroad.” He also sued the public against Attorney Gloria Allred and Kelly, as he did during his trial with Bill.

“Like he said Gloria Allred did the same thing he did with her,” Watt said. “You parade women, and you stir up public sentiment to go against it, and that’s what they did with R. Kelly.”

And.
