Minority. Emotions. Prank.
I don’t care what you say. If you want more people to care about baseball, give us some more.
They say hitting a ball with a bat is one of the most difficult tasks in the major leagues. That means running home is more difficult. Earlier this week, when Miami Marlins infielder Jazz Chisholm struck out a hit against the Washington Nationals, he celebrated hard by hitting James Harden-Esc Eurostep as he crossed the home plate. The next day, national pitcher Josh Rogers returned the favor as he took the same step when he left Oundby after hitting Kislam Jr.
That’s what baseball needs. It’s someone like me – who only watches postseason baseball – will tune in to see if it happened any more.
“I’ve never had a pitcher euro, like I do, but I’ve had some pitchers celebrating something on me,” Chisalam said. “I like it, though, it keeps me stuck more, and [it’s] Something that will really go there and compete. ”
This is how the game should be played.
“Jazz is a sick player,” Rogers said. “She is OK. It’s shows, people, so it’s entertainment for people. “
Did you see that Nothing harmful. No foul. Just fun.
This will make baseball cool for a large number of people. Countless “unwritten rules” and the old regime work hard to keep the game as strict and boring as possible. But, too often we find interactions like the one we saw between Rogers and Kislam that prove the possibility of happiness.
We saw it when Tim Anderson won the Walk-Off Home Run Field of Dreams game.
And when the White Sox released their Nike City Connect uniforms, as they provided some much needed flavor.
Ironically enough, the funny thing is that the NFL would probably be marked as a tantrum, as it seems to be enforcing their rules this season. Black players “punished for not playing white” Which is something that baseball culture has done with players of color for decades.
“The idea behind the joke rule is to prevent big things.” Ron Rivera said Tuesday, There are such leagues There are no immediate plans to amend the rules. “We find this example where a man scolds a man and then the man comes back to pay a little. And the next thing you know, you’ve got a big fight in your hands. You guys come from the left field, hitting each other. And that’s really what, to me, I think the referees are really looking for. They are just trying to calm it down. Can celebrate. They sent out a tape and explained exactly what was neglected and what was not. And I think if you look at the tape and you follow the tape, it makes sense. I am all for celebration. ”
According to people like Rivera, Rogers and Kishlam’s interaction would have ended in a fight in the NFL, instead of friendly conversations on social media. Or, maybe nothing will happen, because it is the emotional reactions to the making of the play that make the game fun to play and watch.
In a sport like baseball where trying to reach younger and more diverse audiences has suffered at the expense of decades, the ability to perceive what they have brought to the sport in the end must be understood. Which is true that this one Game That they had fun playing.
