Sky Mavis, the team that created the Ethereum-powered Non-Fungible Token (NFT) game Axie Infinity, has announced plans to launch the project’s Decentralized Exchange (Dex) during a podcast with Frank Chaparro, according to company co-founder Jeff Zirlin. Moreover, Axis Infinity recently captured more than $ 2 billion in NFT sales, making it the second largest project in terms of NFT sales, just below the market Opensea.
Axis Infinity plans to launch a Dex platform
The Axis Infinity economy has grown rapidly over the past few months, as the Ethereum-powered game has seen 7 2.27 billion in all-time sales among 687,495 merchants. While the project provides an in-game experience with NFTs, Axis Infinity also has two native token resources. Token assets Axis Infinity (AXS) rose 55.4% in value last month. Meanwhile, year-to-date, Axis Infinity’s other Native Token Smooth Love Medicine (SLP) has risen 98.7% against the US dollar.
Jeff Jarlin appeared on podcast The Scoop in the 61st episode with host Frank Chaparo and revealed that Sky Mavis is creating a decentralized exchange (DEX) platform.
Jarlin explained, “The broad concept behind Axis is that the world is a kind of scary and fun, exciting new technology, something related to blockchain that is related and nostalgic.” “So like Axis Pokemon or Tamagocchi, these are the things we grew up with, you can fight them, collect them, you can breed them. Even play games with them to earn cryptocurrency with real value.
‘Web 3 is turning communities into economies’
Speaking about building the dex, Jarlin mentioned that the project would benefit from its larger and established user base. When asked if the Dex platform would simplify concepts like liquidity pools, Jirlin said he would not confirm or deny whether the feature would be available.
Axis Infinity Dex will allow users of the project to trade tokens such as AXS and SLP. Meanwhile, statistics show that Uniswap, Pancakeswap, Susiswap, Curve and many more dex platforms are regularly seeing crypto swaps worth billions of dollars.
Jarlin further emphasized during the podcast that the concept was created so that users do not have to use a cross-chain bridge to acquire or exchange tokens. The co-founders of Axie Infinity see a lot of potential for future “hyper-social” game concepts with blockchain and NFT, but not every game.
“Web 3 is turning communities into economies, and which games will do really well with this digital home economy? I think games aren’t very social, or hyper-social প্রতিটি every game, like a single player game doesn’t need blockchain games or NFT games. More community driven really like social games.
