Arsenal are encouraged by the chase of Andrea Bellotti
Arsenal have got an incentive to chase their Andrea Bellotti. It is the last year of his current contract with Italian striker Torino, and it has now been confirmed that he will not sign an extension.
Gunners have been interested in Bellotti for some time and see him as the ideal replacement for Alexandre Lacazette. The Frenchman’s contract with London will also expire next summer, but he will not be able to extend his stay in the UAE.
Arsenal were linked with Bellotti in the recent transfer window as they searched for a replacement at the target when Lacazette left. The Frenchman stayed at the club, but the Gunners kept their interest in Bellotti. They will now be encouraged by the recent unveiling of Torino manager Evan Zurich.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, the Torino manager confirmed that Belotti would not put a pen to paper on an extension. However, Zurich also claimed that the Italian would not leave in January.
“Bellotti will not sign an extension of the contract. He will not leave in January; he will see himself here by the end of the season.”
The Italian was sought in 2020 by Tottenham Hotspur, who offered a loan deal with the option to buy for £ 46.3 million. However, Torino has rejected it.
Mikel Arteta would like to have Eddie Nketiah
Mikel Arteta wants Eddie Nketiah to sign a new contract with Arsenal. The Englishman was in the scoresheet for the Gunners against Leeds United. Nketiah’s current contract will expire next summer, but he still puts pen to paper on a new contract.
Speaking after the game, Arteta praised the 22-year-old boy and stressed that he wanted Enketia to stay in the emirate.
“I fully believe he is going to be a top, top player and hopefully at Arsenal. I’m happy to have him; he’s our player; I really respect him and from my point of view, I want him. Stay,” Arteta said.
