As cryptocurrency has become something that seems to be here to stay, it has begun to emerge from various aspects of life. Outside of stocks and trading, cryptocurrency is slowly making its way to use for purchases from various retailers, and seems to be trying to shake up the industry, one of the largest movie theater chains in the world. How do you ask? Adopts various methods of cryptocurrency for payment.
AMC CEO Adam Aaron recently took to his Twitter and asked consumers who regularly engage in cryptocurrency if they think the company should start accepting Dogcoin for online payments. More than 140,000 people, 77% of participants, voted to adopt cryptocurrency. To Adam’s surprise, Elon Musk also liked the vote. “I never thought I would see this day. Do Elonmask liked my Dogecoin Twitter poll tweet. If you’ve seen this tweet, congratulations to Mr. Musk, Tesla and SpaceX, “Adam tweeted.
“I’ve tried to be an innovator all my career, but you, sir, are a symbol of innovation more than anyone else.” If you’re not familiar with Alan’s influence, Tesla founder Dougcoin, a “meme token”, has grown in popularity in recent months. Along with billionaire Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, he and Elon are some prominent supporters. According to crypto trading platform Coinbase, the price of a single Dogecoin is currently around 22 cents, up 8,000% from last year.
The excitement behind Adam’s tweet and the most interesting tweet he has ever made has led the CEO to decide to be bold. Within 24 hours, the tweet received 4.2 million views, the most retweets and replies. He announced that the company would accept Dogcoin. The movie retailer plans to allow customers to use currencies including Ethereum, Litcoin, Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash by the end of the year.
Rumiz, are you excited?
