AMC CEO Dougcoin says ‘big news’ for fans as movie theater chain begins accepting crypto payments for gift cards – featured Bitcoin News


Dougcoin, CEO of AMC Entertainment, the world’s largest film exhibition company, has announced “huge news” for fans. When his company works to adopt cryptocurrencies, he said customers can now “buy AMC Theater Digital Gift Cards … with Dogcoin and other cryptocurrencies.”

After announcing how AMC will “accept” Dogcoin at the end of the year, along with four cryptocurrencies, CEO Adam Aaron tweeted on Tuesday that he has “huge news” for Dogcoin fans.

AMC Entertainment Holdings is the largest film exhibition company in the United States, Europe and the world. As of March 311, AMC owns or operates approximately 5,050 theaters and 10,500 screens worldwide.

The executive wrote: “Big news dogecoin fans! Since we work to accept crypto payments online, you can now buy AMC Theater Digital Gift Cards (up to $ 200 per day) with Dogcoin and other cryptocurrencies using BitPay Wallet. Our website, mobile app and Accepted in theaters. ”

The Gift Card Merchant Directory on the BitPay website, where AMC gift cards are listed, has more than 100 lists. To buy a gift card, users are instructed to install a BitPay browser extension and use BitPay Wallet.

The Dogcoin community welcomes the announcement by AMC’s CEO. Many have tweeted “It’s huge” and “Dog to the Moon!” Although the announcement was for gift cards only, the community expects AMC to soon start accepting DOGE along with other previously announced cryptocurrencies.

Aaron announced in September that AMC would accept Bitcoin, Ether, Lightcoin and Bitcoin cash by the end of the year.

Although Dogcoin was not included in the original list of cryptocurrencies that AMC would accept, Aaron conducted a survey on Twitter asking his followers if AMC should accept Dogcoin. He was overwhelmed by the results and the reaction of the Doug community. The CEO later tweeted: “Very interesting! The Dogecoin poll was my highest read tweet so far. In 24 hours, 4.2 million views, my most retweets, most replies. 140,000 votes 77% yes 23% no. “He then announced that AMC would investigate the meme’s acceptance of cryptocurrency.
