Actress Mel Stuart is fighting for her life after she had a stroke after taking the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine.

The 40-year-old actress was suffering from a rare blood clotting side effect after injecting her AstraZeneca vaccine.

Stuart is reportedly working as a lawyer for vaccination.

The Daily Mail reports:

An Australian actress was fighting for her life in the ICU after suffering a stroke due to a rare blood clotting side effect of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Match Stuart, 40, received her first dose of the Oxford-made vaccine on May 24 in London, where she lives with her husband and co-star Ben Lewis.

Thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome is an extremely rare condition in which blood platelet levels are low and only 156 cases of the disease have been reported from approximately 13 million doses of astrageneca administered in Australia.

Of these, only 8 have died, and it is not yet clear whether this can be attributed to the underlying condition.

According to the Australian Government’s website, the chances of suffering from this rare side effect are very low and it occurs in around 4-6 people per million.
